Take yourself back to a time when cell phones were in big bags or just securely located in a car. Land lines were the way most people communicated personally. Legacy email such as Lotus cc: Mail and Microsoft Mail were dominating the corporate world, enabling employees to securely exchange written messages within their local area network. The year was 1994.
Vince Premchand Thadani was the first to be involved in the internet when Netscape released its browser to view Internet Data.
21 years ago, we were able to manage just fine. In 1995, Netscape created the first GUI browser to get mankind connected to the World Wide Web. Our entire world changes. According to Vince Thadani, the internet has had an existence of over 40 years, we only got dependent on it the last 20 years. In the past 20 years the Internet has brought more competition, more opportunity, more dismay, more humiliation and MOSTLY an inherent amount of DATA.
DATA is something we are dependent upon every day. “Today during the middle of critical SKYPE call my Internet connection went out of service”said Vince Thadani, technology expert, “Sadly Comcast who provides Internet, TV and Phone service through cable stated someone had disconnected a major fiber optic cable, where the whole city has an outage.” Vince Premchand Thadani further stated, “I decided to go my local Starbucks. Usually this Starbucks is packed with people. Today however, it’s fairly empty” Heasked a few who had their computers on their laps asking what they are doing, as there was no internet connectivity. Most of them were looking for something to do on their laptops, whether they were deleting old files, or emails.
According to Vince Premchand Thadani, we have multiple modes of getting the internet, through Cable, Landline (ADSL), Satellite or Cellular. Ask yourself how would you lead your life without the internet and how long could you do it for? One day, one week – one month would probably be an impossibility.
With regards to bundling services, Vince Thadani thinks it would be wise to separate your phone, TV and internet provider through different communication avenues. He recommend using phone through the landline, internet through a separate land line and TV through Cable. One can then hedge the ability to communicate if one medium breaks.
For more information about how to potentially divorce yourself from the Internet, when its most needed.
